Episode 463: Doris Spillers Worrell

Doris Spillers Worrell had a huge heart. The churchgoing mother of three loved to help others, and that’s exactly what she was doing when she welcomed 15 year old Paola Yarberry into her home. But when Doris was killed at the family’s business in 2006, questions about the family’s live-in nanny and Doris’s husband Jon were raised. Unfortunately, her case went cold for nearly 20 years before an arrest was made in 2025. The case is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the GBI regional investigative office in Douglas at (912) 389-4103 or the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office at (912) 384-4227.  Anonymous tips can also be submitted by calling 1-800-597-TIPS (8477).
